There’s a common myth that we’ve discovered: People often believe that you shouldn’t pick July for hosting a wedding.

And honestly, we’re shocked - because July weddings are some of our absolute favorite wedding dates out of our entire wedding season. Many of our team members would actually pick July as their top FAVORITE month to host a wedding at Legacy Hill Farm.

Well it is often true that July weddings in many parts of the United States can truly be hot and ideal to avoid. This is not true thankfully in Minnesota.

In Minnesota - July weddings feature all the best of a summer up north.

Here are just 5 of the thoughtful ways that Legacy Hill Farm makes it easy and enjoyable to host a July wedding.

Experience The Best of Summer

One of the reasons that many people are afraid of a July wedding is because of the oppressive heat that so many locations in the United States experience in July.

A summer in Minnesota though is VERY different from a summer in Florida or Texas. In Minnesota, July weather is what we dream of getting to experience all winter.

July is when summer in Minnesota really shines.

With average high temperatures ranging from the mid 70°F - low 80°F at Legacy Hill Farm in July, the weather is a summer dream.

From shade trees to design features that maximize comfort, our outdoor venue knows how to keep guests cool even on a warm summer day. Plus, our hilltop location means there is always a comfortable breeze.

Guests hate being trapped inside when it is finally gorgeous in Minnesota. They don’t want to just look out a window and see that it is a nice day - they want to be able to experience it.

Our uniquely designed venue provides guests with freedom to enjoy the outdoors and not miss out on any of the celebration. Our spaces and the outdoors are seamlessly connected and allow guests to fully enjoy all the best parts of summer.

Fun fact: July is the ONLY month in Minnesota where there has never been snow.

Savor The Long Days

The average day at Legacy Hill Farm in July has 15.2 hours of daylight. Sunrise is around 5:40 AM and sunset near 8:51 PM.

One of the perks of Legacy Hill Farm is our hilltop location that makes the glow of sunset and dusk last.

The relaxed drawn out July sunsets give photographers an abundance of time to capture golden hour photos, plus the extended sunsets make it easy to guests to stay and celebrate.

We frequently find guests stay at weddings at our venue longer than they expected simply because they didn’t realize how late it actually was. The sunsets at Legacy Hill Farm pull you in and make you want to enjoy them “just a little bit longer”.

Enjoy The Flowers

At Legacy Hill Farm in July all of the flowers are blooming and everything is vibrant, fresh, and green.

Week after week in the spring we are working and planting more flowers at Legacy Hill Farm. However, in July the planting is done and it is truly a season of just savoring the planted beauty and enjoying abundance.

Guests will easily find themselves relaxing and enjoying the day as they walk the paved paths, discover benches tucked around the property, and enjoy the shade, flowers, trees, and fountains.

The natural floral and vibrant greenery beauty of the property in July provides couples with an incredible backdrop for not only their event, but also for incredible photos.

Relax - We Spray For Mosquitos

In many parts of Minnesota July can be difficult because of our native pest - the mosquito.

However, at Legacy Hill Farm mosquitos are not an issue.

We professionally spray for mosquitos.

At Legacy Hill Farm guests are delighted to enjoy an outdoor Minnesota summer evening without mosquitos, bug spray, or pests.

It Was Meant To Be Like This

When we designed Legacy Hill Farm we designed each of the spaces with July in mind.

Our primary goal has always been to seamlessly merge the outdoors with the indoors - to create a modern comfortable experience that holds on to the natural simple elegant beauty of a countryside summer day.

July holds this identity so well and we love how it invites everyone in and beautifully celebrates the Minnesota summer season.

With You, For You.
